Weekly Reflection

Today was a hectic day for me.I traveled to Montevideo(Uruguay capital city )to work with my colleagues and our supervisors ,on new standards we are preparing for next year.
This is the first time we are asked to work on standards directly,in fact our role is new in Uruguay. We are PADs, which means teachers who articulate in each province, between our two supervisors and the teachers in the nineteen provinces my country has.
Our supervisors had told us we were going to have a surprise...Prof..Deborah Haley was there! We met her and ,thanks to the U.S.Embassy,which brought her to work in a Linguistics Forum and today with us,we had a workshop on the topic of Technology standards for teachers and for students.
I learned a lot today, she started her presentation with a quote I will upload separately, because I want to transcript it correctly, but it says that technology will not replace us teachers, but other teachers with better use of technology.
I learned a lot this week with all the links Donna shared with us ,I would summarize it in one reflection.
I must use technology on a daily basis IN my classes, not for planning them or presenting to my students ,but WITH them.

  1. Hello Marilen,

You are so lucky to have met and worked with Dr. Deborah Healey. She was just in my office this morning for a meeting! She's back in the US, safe and sound. We're working together on a project and she's a dear friend of mine. Funny coincidence!
